How to claim your belongings: Email Karen. We’ll drop off items anywhere between Seattle and Eugene, or will mail them if you are willing to pay for shipping. Items not claimed within seven days of the Roadhouse will be given to a thrift shop.
Also, if you left anything hanging in the closet or downstairs on the coat racks, arrangements will have to be made with the Milwaukie Community Club hall to be reunited. Thanks!
March 12th, 2017 was the 8th year for the Portland Roadhouse event — a 10-hour contra dance with different bands and callers playing eight 65-minute slots. The calling and music is all volunteer (unpaid) except for travel expenses for those coming from out of town. In addition to serving as a showcase for contra dance music and calling along the I-5 corridor, the Roadhouse is a benefit for the Northwest Folklife Festival.
The organizing committee members range from Roseburg, OR to Anacortes, WA. We are part of the larger Cascade Promenade weekend — a series of back-to-back dance events beginning with Newberg Contra Dance on Wednesday, March 8th, continuing with many dance events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and culminating with the Portland Roadhouse on Sunday.
